view of God
I heard an interesting illustration of God this week at church.
Have you ever sat down with a friend to watch one of your favorite movies? You have seen the movie several times, love it to death, and are able to quote the majority of the movie. However, your friend has not had the privelege to see this film yet. During the movie, you turn to watch your friend just before a "good part" so you can fully see their reaction. They ask you questions like, "Is he okay? Did that really happen? " and such. Each time you answer, "Just wait... you'll see... trust me... you'll love it...".
Is this not an accurate portrayal of God? God has seen the "movie" of our life. He knows what is going to happen, yet he does not reveal it to us. He is there alongside us watching us, waiting to see our reaction as his story for us unfolds.
