Time

On Monday we discussed CS Lewis' statement that God is outside of time, but what about us? We are obviously within time now, but after death, since we are promised eternal life, do we, in a sense, escape time? At that point we will still have a past(?), but not necessarily a future, and our present will be God's present, right? In short, is 'eternity' beyond time, or just its superlative?
